When moving back to a
deep Forehand the mistake here is very common. Jo is
a right handed player and when she moves back to the
deep Forehand you will notice that the first foot
she moves is her left. This is a huge problem
because immediately her base of support is made
narrow as the feet come together. This is death to a
tennis player. As a result of this narrow base her
movement back is slow and off balance.
In
turn as she moves into her hitting position her last
step is small and she has no knee bend making
efficient rotation impossible.
